I think this is England's NHTSA. Anyone know if this is the same reason for engine failure in US?

Which engine? I haven't seen any XC90 engines just suddenly fail.

 

Oh boy...this could get interesting.

I still haven't seen a number on failed V8s under engine #6833.

 

2005 V8 engines up to engine #6833.

 

That is the balance shaft bearing failure, not the whole engine. It has nothing to do with the connecting rods, so that recall is completely different.
