Default fuel pump issues

I changed the fuel pump on my 2006 XC90, and now I have no fuel pressure ( pump not activating) and no power at the fuel pump fuse. and the fuel quantity indicator is not working. I pulled the pump and rechecked all connections as well as the float on the left side, and found all connections secure. I have checked and double checked all my work and cannot find any problems. I would welcome any suggestions.

" no power at the fuel pump fuse" Power for fuses b 6-9 comes from the + jump start port under the hood, then straight back to the battery. Do you have power on any fuse 6-9 in the b fusebox?

What engine is in your car?

If you have the 5 cyl, 8 cyl or any engine with a fuel pressure sensor on the injector rail there is a fuel pump control unit. Yes the fuel pump fuse is #9 in the b fusebox but it's the PEM (4/83) that actually powers the pump (6/33). Some of those were mounted on the right side of the gas tank near the rr tire and were prone to corrosion. Later they were moved inside the car either in the trunk or under the seat to prevent corrosion failure. .Picture of controller attached.

Default fuel pump issue

I have the v-8. I checked for power at station 8 on the fuse block, and I do have power there. The PEM is located inside the car, on the right hand side near the fuel pump location, and does not exhibit any corrosion. I will check power continuity from the battery power post, but why a power disconnect would happen there coincidental to changing the fuel pump seems a real oddity. Would a failed PEM give the indications I have described above?

Here's the v8 diagram, very similar and less confusing.
