Hi everyone. I just purchased a 2006 T5 XC90 with 75000 miles. I put new tires and headlights on it and my wife is now using it for her vehicle. I had reviewed fuel economy and everything I saw was 15 city, 18 combined and 21 highway. I just did a 1500 mile trip and the best I could do on hwy mileage was 18, my combined mileage during the week is 16.5.
Is anyone on here getting over 20 on the hwy in this model? I just wonder if there is anything I should checking or be performing maintenance wise or just assume this is as good as it gets.
We like it overall, but if this is the on going to be the mileage I will probably just go to a larger vehicle in a couple of years.

Check the Gas Mileage thread in the General Chat section.
Also, visit www.FuelEconomy.gov and see what others are recording. Mileage is usually worse in the winter and you may want to learn where the sweet spot is. On a 960 I had I would get 24 mpg @ 70 - 75 mph but got 29 mpg @ 63 mph. So, when taking short trips on and off the freeway I drove 63 instead of 70.
I also picked up a Scan gauge 2 tool which saved me about 15% on my fuel economy. It teaches you how to drive to get the best mileage.

You are probably running regular fuel, which you can but it seems to get better mpg with premium. I have the same engine configuration and I'm avg with 50/50 city/hwy 18-19. Also depends on lots of things.... Do you let your car warm up..... Sit forever and heat up, do you have a lot of crap in your car.... Tire pressures and etc. if you are okay with all the above and are using premium, then change all your filters, engine filter, cabin filter, fuel filter.. Those all could help too.
