heater fan stays on
Hi, this is my first post here. I own a 2005 XC90 T5 with 150k miles. Yesterday when I got home and shut off the vehicle, the ac/heater fan stayed on...with the ignition off?? It ran for about 15 minutes, and then shut off. When I drove it again, it was fine, and after that it stayed on again. This time for about a 1/2 hour before I restarted it. Again it ran after I shut it off, and continued to run until I started it again. It still stayed on. I looked for the fuse, and could not find the one for the fan. Could it be a stuck relay? The fan motor itself? I disconnected the battery overnight, and the same thing happened again today after I drove it. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Thanks,
Davemrg

Likely blower resistor failure, which can cause battery to drain down.
Dealer will want 6-8 hours labor to replace blower resistor. You can replace resistor without removing dash in hour. Just break off fan mounting tab you cannot access without removing dash.
For the resistor, use only Volvo OEM part.
There is DIY on the web and youtube.
