Help with buying an XC90
Hi all.
Im new to this site and to Volvos in general and am hoping I can get some advice on buying an XC90.
I have around 7-8K to spend on an XC90 and am looking for a diesel 2.4.
Is there anyting I need to watch out for before buying?
If I was to buy one with high mileage say around 100k+ miles on the clock would you say a big no no to it or can an XC90 with such high mileage still be reliable?
If I do find one is it worth putting a new cam belt on (im guessing it has a cam belt and not a chain) and any other parts?
Is the mpg on a diesel 2.4 bad?
Any info would be much appreciated.
I reall have fallen for this car and cant wait to find one.
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you post your question on the volvo forum U.k. All members there drive diesels.
My experience with a 2004 XC90 diesel in Iceland was very positive. I never had any issues beyond ball joints needing replaced regularly (I used it on and off road). Other than that the vehicle was 100% reliable for the 107k miles I owned it. I would assume that the current owner is having similiar luck. Just make sure you get all the receipts (and check them!) to assure a full service history.
