How to replace turn signal bulb inside the side mirror with pics
Hey Guys
Today I replace the blinker / turn signal bulb / lamp inside the side mirror.
You need to remove the mirror form the housing. In order to remove the mirror, you need to pry it out and then hinge it to one side.
As you can see in the pic, I use my fingers to pry it out. Be careful when you remove the mirror since it has it has 2 tiny wires that connect it to the defroster on the back of the mirror.
After you replace the bulb, to install again the mirror in their position, just pushed in their position and push it until you hear clicks.
Also, here is info that can help you too:
how to take off side mirror covers to replace turn signal bulb?
This is a piece of cake job
Hope this info and pics help.
THX
Isaac

Thread revival!
I can't tell from the pics - are the 2 wires that connect to the back of the mirror glass connected with spade connectors or something like that, or are they soldered in place? Basically, I'm wondering how easy it is to replace just the mirror glass. The passenger mirror got hit by something that popped up on the road, and the glass failed. (Strangely enough, it didn't shatter, it just went all gray, so there's no reflection anymore. I don't know if it's an auto-dimming mirror, and somehow it went to "full dim"?)
It's an '08 3.2 XC90, if that makes any difference.

Does wires are the defroster for the mirrors. When you turn on the rear window defroster it also turn on the defrosters for the mirrors.
Is very easy to replace the mirror. Just follow my pics
Thx & Happy New Year

I grabbed a 2005 (non-turn signal) sideview mirror from the junkyard, hoping that at least the mirror glass would be the same. No such luck - it doesn't pop out the same way. I broke it in the process of trying to get it to pop loose, and from what I could see, it attaches to the adjusting mechanism in a different manner. Ah well, a few bucks down the tubes.
Hi, I needed to replace glass which fell off!, passenger rear view, Volvo provided new glass plus backing plate and heater connections. No assistance to replace, but your advice was perfect, glass is replaced, I can see!
