Default How to video: Droping Transmission on 2005 XC90 T6

I just uploaded a one hour long video on how I dropped my 2005 XC90 T6 transmission here:

Along the process, I also show how to remove the angle gear, starter motor, steering rack and other items and activities.

Last year, I did the same drop after finding that I had to get the tranny rebuilt. Here is the original thread:

https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...eration-69359/

Late last year, the freaken car did the same thing! I have spent more time under the car than I have driving it! So I spoke to my tranny shop guy and we tried to troubleshoot all that we could, but no easy fix but to drop it again and bring it back in to him. So this time I video taped it in hopes that it might provide insight to others that might want to take this on.

Just last week, I found out that the torque converter this time was the culprit. I think I might want to sell this POS after everything is buttoned up and move on. Anyhoooo, I hope the video will help others out there...

(remember to set the youtube video setting to the highest 480p on right bottom corner for best resolution)

I wish you had posted this a month ago. I just did one without any instrucitons. We just figured it out as we went along. Holy cow. I had that thing on the lift for a month, just working on weekends.

In any case, thank you for taking the time to make and post this video. I am not surprised it's an hour long.

The trans shop that rebuilt it didn't include a new torque converter?

In total I think it was around 10 hours for me over 3 evening sessions after work. I burnt nearly an hour trying to get the right tool at the 6 little flywheel star-bolt until I gave up and the next day went to HF to get that "indexing" ratchet which made a world of difference.
