Leather care
New XC90... What's a good product for caring for the Nappa leather?
Naturally, Volvo recommends their own leather care kit and I'm OK with parting with the dollars if there's a good reason such as being a superior benefit or other.

This one is $5 more with a slightly different part number:

How about equivalents from elsewhere?

I use Volvo's Leather Care Kit, and really like it. Some say the Ikea Leather Care Kit is the same a Volvo's. So I've also purchased the Ikea product, ABSORB Leathercare set - IKEA,
which is cheaper than Volvo's, and I too believe it's (Ikea's) is the same as Volvo's.
With my previous cars, Mercedes and Passat, I used Lexol. But having used Vovlo's kit a couple to times, I do prefer it over the Lexol.

Is the Volvo (or Ikea) product a paste? My seats are air-conditioned and have the holes which I picture getting clogged with a paste.
But I heard from a Volvo parts rep who recommends using using Hide Care, formerly "Hide Food", from Connelly. I reminded him that my seats have the AC holes and in my case he agreed that it's better to stick with a liquid rather than paste and recommended using the Volvo brand which is liquid. He also said that while the Ikea brand may be superficially similar, the Volvo one is formulated to tolerate the high temps in a car as opposed to furniture. Not worth the $10 to risk it, in my estimation, until there's proof.
