We inherited my father-in-law's 2005 V70R with 58,000 miles when he passed away in October. It's a beauty, but the super low profile hits parking curbs and snow ruts (we live in Minnesota) and the turning radius makes parking a problem. He was a retired physician we loved to take driving trips. We have a family in the suburbs - different lifestyles.

We feel the XC90 would fit us and our needs well. We'd love to do as even a trade as possible and not have to put in a lot of money. We understand the V8 is the way to go.

(Question: do the 2006 & 2007 XC90's require replacing all four tires when one goes bad? Our v70R does!)

We have found two possible XC90's with the V8 and need wise advise on a decision because we have never shopped for Volvo. Both are the V8 4.4L:

newer car and lower miles....a given. keep up on the oil changes. and if you get a weird noise the goes with rpm go to dealer and have them replace engine.

1. Is it worth the extra almost $6,000 for one year newer and 15,000 miles less?
2. Are we stupid for trading in our V70R with low miles for one of these XC90's?
