Default Low beam out 2005 xc90

Rebuilt cem installed, but lost passenger low beam. Have high and fog light. Testing showed power from cem blue/white (drivers) but not from blue/yellow (passenger). Under warranty but haven’t gotten replacement yet. Bulb and socket seem good, no ballast in this.

would it be ok to cut no power blue/yello wire and splice it into drivers blue/white wire? (Or am I a hopeless redneck who should be driving a Ford falcon)

Just close out this thread: Rebuilder of central electronic module advised me that their module was defective and offered a replacement. Upon installation I still did not have low beam. Kudos to xemodex for their excellent support btw. I offered to pay them freight on unit #2 and they declined.

although the light socket itself looked to be in good condition, I pulled the wires out using a sharp probe and tried them in the bulb holder individually. One side did not have any friction so I replaced the entire socket.

lo and behold, that was the problem all along. Although the socket was clean and dry and looked perfect upon minute inspection, it was worn out. I still don’t know why there was no power from the cem, or what it actually does here, but I’ll take the win and move on to the heater, which is indifferent to say the least....
