i have a 2004 xc 90 twin turbo... i had a misfire code on 4,5,and 6. was a little low on oil from my calculation almost 3 qrts.. and the engine studdered and smoked a little bit . some black smoke.. the turbo on the driverside look oilwet ness on the air intake line... i cleared the codes and they have not come back and it does not smoke anymore.. now my queastion is does anyone know any place i should check to make sure everything is ok.. i know cars pretty well.. but this is my frist volvo.. like would the low oil cause anything or do i need to look deeper??? thank you for your help

 

Low oil can cause some of this problem, Its kinda hard to explain by typeing. but yes oil can cause this, I've seen cars so low on oil they wont start. The lifters which work with the camshaft cant get up to do their job therefore it will miss or not start. Id be more worried about why it was low on oil tho.. Dont see many oil leaks on the XC90's
