I bought a 2004 XC90 from my sister 2 yrs ago, and noticed right away that it had little or no idle. The Volvo dealer I brought it to said nothing was wrong. My wife primarily drives the truck and has never complained about it until recently.

With all the snow and ice we are getting in the North east, she is having trouble starting from a dead stop. The tires just spin, even in the W position. Is this a problem anyone has heard of? Is the tire spinning a problem because of no idle or is the AWD not working correctly?

She is afraid to leave the house, which is unacceptable considering the truck she is driving.
