I can buy a used Nav system real cheap...$40 from another XC90. My XC90 never had one, can I expect it to be a plug n play operation, or does it need to be dealer programmed or some other problem?
And will there be a wire harness or plug in my dash if it never had Nav sys?
It will not be plug and play. There are many other parts to the system. I have seen a garmin rigged into that surround - looked very good but don't know if it would be too far away to be used as a touch screen. That Volvo nav system looks cool (had one on a 2001 v70 and a 2004 xc90). The screen is very slow to rise, it's difficult to enter destinations, and not sure if you can still get map updates. I know none are available for the 2001. Maps were stored on a DVD for those systems, so a dvd player is part of the system. That was mounted under the drivers seat on the xc90. Here's a site for uk DVD updates - should be a us site out there. https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...gation-systems
