Default Pants on fire!

I am curious how many XC90 owners of earlier models have insanely hot driver heated seat. I drove another XC90 before the one I bought last week and it felt like the element was burning my leg. (The one I purchased does this as well).

It was cooler today and turned on the seat warmer, I knew not to use the higher setting. Driving not even 10 minutes to my job I felt the same burn on the lower setting. Now there is a hole in the leather
I don't see a recall listed online for this issue so I am guessing not many have experienced this. Am I wrong?

I have a 2004, and my seats get pretty hot. Not hot enough to burn me, but hotter than any seat I've had before. There is a way through VIDA to program the seat temperature (but I've not done it). Also, there is a thermostat that controls that temperature that may be defective.
