Hi everyone!

I just purchased a 2005 XC90 V8 with 135,000 miles on it. I got it from the first owner with a stack of service records, so I'm not too worried about the high mileage. I'm looking for a few parts, though...

The flexible fabric-like accordion hose that runs from the air filter box to the throttle body has holes in it. I haven't noticed any issues with the way the car drives, but I want to fix this ASAP. I can't seem to find the part anywhere. Is this a dealer-only thing? I can always duct-tape it in the short term, but I would prefer not to do that. I can't use a generic hose, because there seems to be a 3/8" hose that "T"'s off of the big hose, and the big hose needs to have molding for the T.

Also, the plastic seat bases on the front seats have cracked. This is on both the driver and passenger side. Everything works OK, it's just ugly and I'd like to spruce it up a bit. Any ideas on where to source these?

 

After some RTFMing here at the forum I found the seat bolsters at eEuroparts. $23 a piece. Not bad at all!

However, the air intake hose is a bit of a mystery. I can't seem to find a source for it. Here's a picture so you have a better idea of what I'm talking about. Yes, it's a huge image.

 

you aren't going to find that tube at pep boys. I would just get it from the dealer. you can buy flexible neoprene and silicone hose in various diameters at racing supply places (pegasus racing, racer wholesale, etc.), but you would need to take the old one off to measure.

 

$160 for the "fresh air hose" as it is called. I'll stick to duct tape for now.

 

that's a lot. I'd just measure and get the neoprene flex hose. about $25 for 3' length which can be cut.

 

Also, for those interested, the air hose part is #8 in this diagram and is 30723111 at Volvo Parts Webstore...
