Price estimate timing belt
Is this a fair price for this repair? 2006 XC90 . I am in the deep South.
Parts Kit including water pump, idler, etc. 504.00
Camshaft Seal, recommended 50.00
Volvo Coolant 20.00
Shop supplies 20.00
Labor 339.00
Total 933.00

- Aisin WP: $60 on line
- TB kit (TB, 2 pulleys) $120 at dealer
- Coolant: Prestone 1 G = $12 at Walmart.
Re water pump: if you have 90K-100K, you can keep it. The Aisin WP is known to last > 160K-180K.
Labor for TB is about 3-4h.
Re Cam seals, if not leaking, leave them alone because in order to get to them, you have to remove the cam sprockets, and this requires removing the rear cover to install the special tool to lock the rear cams, this adds to labor charge.
