My radio in my 04 T6 works great on FM but there is a chirping noise on AM. Does this sound like a software fixable problem?

 

It seems more of a reception problem or hardware-related problem. I would take the radio out and clean all electrical connectors with contact cleaner to see if it cures the problem. Do this with the radio power and the ignition switch off.
