Exclamation Radio - turns off

Hi, I hope you can help! I have a xc90 SE D5 2005, which I bought very recently - I returned it to the dealer to have a new battery fitted as the low battery message would come on within minutes if the engine was off and the key still in the ignition. After returning the car with a new battery (although I suspect a battery removed from another XC90) I was getting problems with the radio.

The radio will work sometimes, may 3 out of 5 times i get in the car. However on the other occasions the radio will come on for 10 seconds and then switch off and stay off, if i press the ON button twice it displays the high performance message for a second or two and the goes blank - the CD will not work. and the parking sensors will not work either. However I am able to get into the Bass Treble setting etc - Just no sound

On the other occasions the radio will work perfectly

Has anyone experienced anything simluar

The fuses are fine - hence it works perfectly on some occasions

Default Radio keeps going off, CD fine,

I currently have the same problem, and given no answers, I would guess it is not a common issue. My radio will go off, hit the on, you see the performance logo, then goes right back off again. Then it will come on randomly, did that for a few weeks, and now it no longer comes on, but the CD works fine, so not a fuse which I checked. No static, so I can't imagine it being the radio amplifier, any clues yet?

I had similar issue … this is what fixed it … disconnect battery, and while battery disconnected check all fuses as per owner's manual, in all 4 fuse compartments. Once all fuses checked, re-connect the battery. And viola!

Default XC90 radio problems

I own a 2006 XC 90 V8 for more than 10 years and until this week had no problem with its radio. Now the radio powers off and on again randomly. Sometimes it works fine for 10-20 minutes and than it powers off for a few seconds (5-10s) and on again. It looks very random, the timing varies without any obvious cause. If I press the on button when it powers off by itself it powers on immediately, and a few minutes later the problem occurs again and again. I have no batery issues currently. The battery was replaced two years ago. Any clues?

Finally I found the problem with the radio. It was the ATM module (antenna) located in the roof on top of the cargo compartment. I replaced it and the radio has been working fine since then.
