rear window washer
I have a 2005 cx 90 and I can't get the rear washer to work but the wiper works. My front wipers and washer works. Is there a separate pump or fluid container. Any help would b appreciated
have someone try the rear washer several times while you look at car. look for drips. it is more likely to be a hose that came loose rather than a clog. the plastic t-connections where the lines meet fail pretty easily but cheap to replace.
Thanks, Seems that there is a check valve near the back window, I tried to use a mighty vac pump to see if I can pull fresh air from the rear window jet, I didn't get any air flow, it was blocked good. So now I don't know is the check valve to block reverse flow, or like you said the Tee valve/check valve, or is the rear window jet really blocked. (proablably next Tuesday for me to investigate! Thanks for your input!

I thought I had the same problem, water came on the front window and headlights but not the rear window. When I mentioned this to my mechanic, who also has a Volvo, he told me that the lever needs to be pushed away for the rear to squirt instead of pulling towards for the front to work.
My Model has only two pumps. The one pump that sends fluid to the wind shield, has a Tee that sends liquid to the rear window. I was able to pull the center ceiling trim next to the lift gate. (listed on Pillar Trim at dealership) I found the last connector before the lift gate, and the mighty vac was able to draw fluid from the reservoir to that point. So I am convince the rear jet is clogged. or maybe the last 10 inches of tubing is jacked up. I will post when I find out definitively.
What I am suggesting is that I will try the push method, but if it rains on my windshield, it should rain on the rear gate too. But while researching my issue, I am sure I have seen models with more than two pumps. So that is possible. I guess.

You need to push the stalk to use the rear washer. See your owners manual.
Your right
, I am wrong
.
There is nothing wrong with my back window, except the wiper doesn't like to get the top of the arc. Last time I drove this car was in February and any assumptions I made was based during Minnesota/Wisconsin Winter. This XC90 came from Atlanta, and I suspected it had water in the washer reservoir. So I plugged in the battery just to test this out. and it worked. side note, the new rear window jet has just arrived, after I successfully tested this procedure. (return to sender)
Thanks for point this out!

Please don't post your question about your XC90 in new member. That's just a place to introduce yourself and your car, not to ask technical questions.
