Default Rearview Mirror= Autodim and blurness

Heya guys,

my rearview mirror is blur and looks as if there is water/liquid stuck inside the mirror...when i press the mirror, there is some sort of liquid which actually seeps at the edges...i am not sure if it is water or not... does anyone know what the problem might be and if it can be fixed without changing the whole rearview mirror unit??!

thanks alot and i really hope it can get fixed...cheers.

That is the dimmer stuff they use in the Mirror. The only way to fix is have it replaced.(Expensive)

And you cannot just go used either because it is a computer.

Computer in the mirror?
Do you mean he cannot go used because the computer in the used mirror "will not talk" to the car?

actually i have been told that as long as its the same part, let it be used or new, a new software would need to be programmed into the car for it to be able to "talk" to the car...

Totally incorrect. It needs to be a new one and needs software from the dealer.
If not it will affect the sunroof, alarm system, keyless entry system and maybe even more.

Yes stay away from them. The program is a one time thing. Once it is programmed to a car thats it. If you were to install it and go to the Dealer and ask for a software download for it they would try it and the car will not accept the software.

I had told that to a guy I work with and he didn't believe me till he bought a used one and had me install it.
And like I said above the mirror didn't work,Keyless entry didn't work, and sunroof didn't work. He sent it to the Dealer and they told him the car would not take the software download for it.
