Hi I’m new to this forum. I have a 2004 Volvo XC90 2.5L Turbo. I recently encountered a check engine light with reduced engine performance and engine system requires surface on my dash. I took out the throttle body and saw a lot of carbon on it as well as a lot of black gunk where the throttle body was located. I cleaned it and put it all back together. I start it up and it still has a rough idle and a check engine light with the p2111, but as soon as I clear the code the car goes back to normal idle and drives as if it never had a issue. Could it be that the throttle body has to be reprogrammed since it was taken out ?

 

Hey we have the same vehicle as you and had the service message for about a week but was driving fine then this morning we received the same code as you. Wondering what ended up happening with yours?
