Stalling and Dying Like My Patience...
So I have been picking around the forum, I thought I had this thing fixed...
To Start Pulled DTC P2188.
XC90 2.9L turbo 2004 was running rough, idle erratically and when I put it in reverse or sitting at a stop light it would straight up die (sometime in idling coast).
What I've done:
1. Replaced MAF Sensor with new OEM Bosch. (seemed to smooth things out)
2. Replaced Spark plugs and inspected ignition wires/harnesses. (proper gap .028 with NGK V power copper)
3. Replaced Fuel Filter
4. Checked alternator charge (working properly)
5. Replaced battery
4. Found leak in turbo plastic house next to engine mount. Epoxy patched it.
Was working fine, but with a "slightly" rough idle, in a few seconds would stabilize. Keep in mine as long as the engine was over 500 RPM, it works great.
But,... it seems back to its old trick.
I do notice when the car is cold or operating for the first hours of the day it doesn't die, But if I stop and park it for half an hour or so after running a bit and jump back in and restart it, that's when it gets all pissy and starts roughing it and dies. It will start back up again, and then die again a few seconds, then start it back up, you get a few feet and dies again.
After you wrestle with this for a handful of starts its fine???
I'm leaning toward the O2 sensor in Bank 1...but like to hear your opinion and see what your thought is on the matter. Thanks!

That is insightful Matt... that is something to seriously consider. Thank you sir!
Fuel pressure regulator?
I also had an issue with the PEM which I did a write-up about here.
Might not be the issue but just more food for thought.

Some websites call is a fuel pressure sensor, some call it a fuel pressure regulator. But it looks like the answer is yes. I have a 2.5T so don't know much about the T6, however it shows the 2004 XC90 with the 2.9L engine as one of the vehicles the below product fits.
