Default Thinking of buying a 2005 XC90 V8

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and am looking for some advice on what to do from people who actually own a XC90, not from some "expert" who has driven the car for a few hours and then writes a review of it and post it on his/her website. So here's the situation:
I am looking at buying a 2005 XC90 V8 with 97,000 miles on it. Carfax checks out clean, one owner, from the carfax it looks like the previous owner took it to a Volvo dealership for scheduled service. I haven't driven the vehicle yet, just saw it on the lot while the dealership was closed. I am thinking about taking it to the dealership that performed all of the scheduled service and having them check it out if they will. The dealership is asking $15,995 for the XC90. AWD, multi-CD, no nav., no DVD, sunroof, leather, 3rd row
Any feedback would be great, i.e. MPGs, reliability etc. I have read that the 2005 V6 and T5 XC90's have had tranny problems but haven't seen anything about the V8 (I know they are different trannys but am curious if the six-speed holds up).

Thanks in advance for all the info.
