Can I add Slick-50 high mileage treatment to our 2004 XC90?? It has the T5 engine, with the (Toyota) transmission... Having it flushed next week, car has 88k miles.. I know some of the older trannies do NOT play well with synthetics or additives, but does anyone know if this is one of them? Thx.

 

What would be your goal in adding this to the trans?

 

I've put Slick 50 products in all of my older vehicles, not all Volvos, and it seems to work..? Maybe a little placebo effect going on, but it's never had an adverse affect, so I guess just habit? If that makes sense?! I just want to know if it will ruin the fluid in there, as some of the older trannies don't like additives, that's all.

 

I wouldn't do it. Why break what isn't broken?

 

Hi Drew. My 04 XC90 T6 is showing some transmission problem. I'm afraid it might be the known 03-05 XC90 T6 transmission issue. Did you add the Slick50 transmission on your XC90? I have experience with the Lucas Transmission fix additive, and this worked well. Would you share your experience with adding additive on your XC90 transmission. Thx.

 

google slick 50 and you will see that the feds made them stop making some bogus claims.

 

Slick 50 does nothing, at best.
