Default Transmission slipping

I have an '06 XC90 with the 2.5L turbo. Mileage is 145,000. Not sure which transmission. Yesterday I was sitting at idle for about 15 minutes with the AC running (in Florida) and when I started to move the tranny started slipping. It got moving finally and happened again after sitting at a stop light. Been okay since so I am wondering if I overheated something? I checked the oil level after finding the "buried" dipstick. Oil smells fine and is just below the cold level mark on the stick. For full disclosure, I just got back from our local Volvo dealer where I dropped $22.00 for a litre of JWS3309 tranny fluid. Also, I invested in a VIDA DICE 2014D off of EBay last year and have only used it once. Possibly, is there an TCM "upgrade" that I could do and does that require a subscription? I know that's a different topic but from what I have been reading the two might be linked. Thanks for any assistance!!

7. is there an TCM "upgrade" that I could do and does that require a subscription?
1, same trans used from ~2001-2007 or so in all the 2.5 and t motors. s60, v70, xc70, xc90, r60, r70.
2. sorry to hear that
3, overheating would not have caused that and it did not overheat, (unless the engine did) trans cooler does a good job
4. might be slightly low if checked when hot and engine running, Would be very low if engine was off when checked (if so where did the fluid leak from?) These trans are picky about fluid level.
5. Buy fluid from toyota - they have the same fluid (and use the same trans) and it's MUCH cheaper.
6 wise choice but cannot be used with a subscription. The dice unit can but the new VIDA is an online product.
7 I'm certain there is a TCM upgrade but it will not stop the trans from "slipping" - and would require a subscription to download and install the new software. Recommended when installing a replacement transmission as well as retrain the TCM to shift smoothly with the new trans.

1. Okay
2. Thanks
3. Did not overheat, according to coolant temp gauge
4. Was checked after idling for a few minutes. Only thing leaking from this car is the AC condensate drain. (now that I said that I'm probably jinxed!)
5. Toyota, huh? Glad it"s not the GM they put in older cars.
6 & 7. I'll have to play around with the DICE unit and VIDA online to see what I can and cannot do.

there is no VIDA on line without a registration and subscription purchase. With that you would be able to do everything that the stolen/hacked 2014d offers, in a new totally (and much slower) different interface, and be able to download new software for whatever module you think might need it. (but none really do)
