hi all i am aware that you can get either Bi-xeons or halogens with the volvo XC90 i have a 2004 that is black the back of my headlight housing appears to be a dark color i have seen other 2004's 2003's etc in parking lots with halogens as well but they have a nice bright colored backing i didnt know that there were two different types of halogen headlamps is that what it is or am i just thinking the back face looks brighter.

i personally think thatHalogens are way way better in providing a greater projection into the darkness both in low beam and high beam positions. i reccently upgraded my bulbs my frotn halogens headlamps from 55 watts to 75 watts for only about 20 bucks i took my foglights from 55 to 95 watts. I live out in a rural area as well but i can see perfectly even with my stock headlamps and fog lights and highbeams i just upgraded really for the look. with the highbeams and halogens your wife and kids will be fine. i have driven cars with halogens and XEONS 99% ofthe time the halogens are better or there is no differance between the two at all.
