Volvo XC 90 AC/ Rear and Front

Volvo XC 90 AC/ Rear and Front
Good afternoon
I have a somewhat silly question but every time i get in my XC90 it goes through my mind.
Nominally I'm driving by myself. When i first get in my Volvo and turn on the AC does it help or hinder to turn on rear AC to cool vehicle down?
Is it merely fans pulling the air from the front or a actual system?
I live in Phoenix Az and as of late we have had over 110 for 29 days.

The rear system (for the 3rd seats) has its own fan, vents and evaporator - so it would help to turn the rear on at the same time.
2nd seat vents come from the front system
2nd seat vents come from the front system
