Default White paint question - 2011 v. 2004

I have a friend with a 2011 XC90 and it has a damaged front left fender. There are two XC90s at a local parts yard with clean front fenders, and they're both white like my friend's car. The ones at the parts yards are MY2004 and MY2006. Using the VIN decoder on this website, the 2011 is a paint code 614 "Ice White." The 2004 decodes as "Ice White" too but shows paint code 014. The 2006 shows there's two possibilities, an "Ice White" 614 and a "White Pearlescent" 453. I know the 453 wouldn't be interchangeable with my friend's 2011 Ice White, but I didn't look close enough at the car in the yard to see if it was metallic white or not.

First, I'm confused about the 2004 XC90 with the "014 Ice White" because I looked it up and it appears that 014 doesn't exist. Might've been a typo that's supposed to say 614?

Second, theoretically if the 2004 and 2006 parts yards cars are both 614 ice white, would the color match close enough with my friend's 2011 ice white that's 5-7 years newer than the parts yards cars? I understand it will probably be a little different because white is a tough paint color to stay consistent with, but I need some input on if it's even worth my time to pull the fenders off the parts cars and bring them back to see if it matches up. Thanks in advance.

? If the paint code on the used junkyard cars is the same as your "friends" car, it will be close enough considering both you and your "friend" are looking for the cheapest way to fix a damaged fender.

I've done the same thing - I found a fender the same paint code and made it work. Took some buffing to make it look close enough

(backed into a pole on my rf fender - yeah dumb move )

what code shows on the build plate? You should be able to google around for a list of codes by model year. You can also call a local automotive paint shop and give them the 2004 and the 2011 code and ask if they have similar formulas. (I've used Levine Paint & Auto Supply here in Danbury to make custom spray cans...)
