Hi, I'm new to this forum so thanks in advance for your help. We're considering purchasing an '07 XC90 w/ 19k miles. In doing research I keep reading that the GM trans in horrible. However I'm having trouble figuring out whether or not the trans on this particular model is considered to be okay. I *think* that Volvo stopped using the GMs in '06. Is this correct?

Any other potential pitfalls we should consider before making this purchase?

 

The 2005+ V8 and 2007+ V6 both use a Japanese transmission AWTF-80 SC shared by 20+ other vehicles. Google AWTF-80 SC for the details. My wife drives and tows with a 2006 V8 six speed auto and it's great.
