Default Xc90 advice

I am considering the purchase of a new 2011 XC90. Can anyone tell me of the pros and cons of the R-Design model verses the standard model? I am sure that they are both excellent vehicles but I just cannot decide on which one. I know that the R-Design will drive and handle better, but how much better?
Thanks for any and all feedback.

Does anyone out there actually own, drive, or have knowledge of a R-Design?

I've driven several R-Design service loaners and the only difference I can see came down to cosmetics. Can't say that I noticed the driving experience to be any different between an R Design and non R Design model. I'd go with whichever looks the best to you.

Question.....my service engine light is on...it was on then went off now has been on for several weeks....my service light has been on since I bought this car a year ago...it's a 2006 xc90...that had about 45,000 miles...I paid about 24000 $ for it...but I purchased it from a local dealer and there are no volvo dealers around this area...they are about 2 hours from here....after just a month or so, they had to replace the rear passenger side wheel barring...then the alternator and battery both went bad as well about 3 months ago...all this within 8 months....Now the check engine light...I also keep getting this message that the fuel filler cap is loose (I think it's that or something like that)....what should I do....I want to turn these lights off...and why would this check engine light be coming on just about a month after all the other work....it was $1,200 to replace the alternator and battery...
