I have looked through a few websites as well as the owners manual, yet can find no documentation on how to replace my stock air filter with a K&N Air Filter replacement. Can someone help? My XC90 is a 2007 4.4L V8.

There should be 3 to 4 latches you unlock and lift the lid and remove the old filter and install the new one.

 

I wouldnt replace it. The K&N filters have oil on them that will contaminate the MAF sensor. ANd as far as the gain over stock. there will be so minute of a difference it isnt worth the money. I cant tell you how many MAF sensors i've seen fried because of the oil from the Airfilter ruining them.

And yes i tried cleaning the MAF sensor with the cleaner to no avail...
