Hello all...new member here. My name is Jake and I have always been a religious honda/acura driver, while my wife tends to lean towards volvos. Anyway, the lease on her S40 (which I love too) is going to be up in a year or so and we are beginning to consider the XC90. My question is whether or not the SUV will be getting an overhaul anytime in the near future. It seems the vehicle has gone pretty much unchanged since its inception (2003 if I am not mistaken), with the exception of dropping the T6 motor. So, does anyone on these boards have any idea as to when we can expect to see a NEW XC90?

Nothing official from Volvo about at this point the next xc90 other than speculations that a remake would be due after the Xc60 (2009) launches -possibly as early as in 2010/2011. There are some other Forums that have discussed this but I can't remember where -possiblyunderSwedespeed's Volvo forums (http://www.swedespeed.com/).

XC60 looks like the way to go if you are looking for innovation and a new look. The XC60 will be released later this year and I have already asked my Volvo dealership to pre-order it when it comes available. My wife wants to replace her C30 with the XC60 - I am quite happy with my mod XC90 V8

 

Yeah, you could be waiting for an XC90 update for awhile... I'd go with the XC60 that should be out for 2009.. check it out:

But wouldn't going with the newly released xc60 be just like buying the xc90 in 2003?? Honestly I would wait and see how it holds up the first couple of years and then maybe buy that one. I don't think I would ever buy a first year model after seeing how many bugs the xc90 had. I would seriously be tempted to wait for the xc90.
