View Full Version : nitrous>? kcvolvo 09-12-2007, 02:57 PM just curious who has used the bottle on there turbo motors and what kind of out come did they have with it? S70driver 09-12-2007, 03:25 PM A few people on another forum have used it and with good success. However you must remember you need to know everything there is to know about Nitrous before you install it. Because one wrong move and BOOM. Don't run more then a 30 shot to start out with. kcvolvo 09-12-2007, 04:03 PM i have had a few vehicles with nitrous so i know how to use it properly i was just curious how much people were running and what kind of power they had made S70driver 09-12-2007, 04:08 PM Not many people running it and you shouldn't run more then 30-35 shot. The internals cannot handle it. kcvolvo 09-12-2007, 04:38 PM i will keep that in mind figured with being a turbo motor they would have better internals S70driver 09-12-2007, 05:05 PM Well they have internals that can handle what it has and a little bit more. However when you upgrade to Nitrous your in a whole different playing field. I would seriously look into upgrade rods and pistons as well. Also run a wetshot. kcvolvo 09-12-2007, 05:17 PM are most people running wet shots i know with my merkur it was reccomended running a dry shot with a turbo application S70driver 09-13-2007, 02:19 PM ORIGINAL: kcvolvo are most people running wet shots i know with my merkur it was reccomended running a dry shot with a turbo application I believe a few on Volvospeed were using a wet shot. I could be wrong though, but if my memory serves me right it was a wet shot. gordon368 09-14-2007, 08:31 PM How much money would it cost for me to add a nitrous system to my 2001 s80 t6? S70driver 09-14-2007, 11:19 PM ORIGINAL: gordon368 How much money would it cost for me to add a nitrous system to my 2001 s80 t6? I'm going to say at least $500 probably plus. Because your going to want tuning for it. And your I wouldn't run more then a 35 shot unless you beef up your internals. boostedbrick 09-21-2007, 01:01 AM Laughin gas. WHooooo Just up the boost on the little turbine and add a mathanol injection kit to cool the charge instead of spraying. Upgrade the intercooler and injectors, find some sort of piggy back system to run more fuel pressure if needed and have a grand ol time. jwheels54 10-02-2007, 02:16 PM I actually plan on running n2o with mine but only as an intercooler bar i already have a wet kit lying around so im just gonna covert to the intercooler bar but i wouldn't run n2o in the motor with stock internals or even a stock clutch white out 10-02-2007, 09:48 PM why? n2o is expensive, co2 is cheap and will cool the i/c more than enough. +1 for everything that boostedbrick said. Nick jwheels54 10-03-2007, 10:36 AM co2 isn't that much cheaper if any go to a co2 refill see how much they charge last time i knew it was like 8 to 10 dollars to fill like a 3lb bottle it cost 35 to fill a 15lb n2o bottle boostedbrick 10-04-2007, 12:22 AM I wouldnt waste 35 bucks throwing it into the wind though. If your gonnause nitrous, use nitrous.Dont spray it over the intercooler and waste it. If anything spray a 30-50 shot and put the purge behind the intercooler so it will spray on it. For everything else just up the boost. Im running 18psi on mine right now and pulls like a son of a bisquit. Thats a wagon too with no tune just a lot of work and a big ass turbo. white out 10-04-2007, 01:28 PM ORIGINAL: jwheels54 co2 isn't that much cheaper if any go to a co2 refill see how much they charge last time i knew it was like 8 to 10 dollars to fill like a 3lb bottle it cost 35 to fill a 15lb n2o bottle To fill my 10lb bottle (keggerator) it is $15, I doubt it would be any more for a 15lb bottle. Nick jwheels54 10-08-2007, 06:31 PM well i know when i played paintball my 3lb bottle was like 8 bucks to refill but i have a 15lb bottle and everything to do the intercooler bar but the bar itself so i figured why not with a possible 15 to 20hp gain |
