Has anyone used nitrous on an 07 R? If you have, do you need to use a wet kit or dry kit? Does the engine have a MAF type system similar to the Mustang? Does anyone know what type of pistons are in the engine stock? What is the max torque that you can make before the engine is at risk of catastophic failure? The 6 speed automatic transmission?

 

I doubt anyone on here has done this to their car...

I agree it is a maintenance site but why does it have this stupid section for nitrous and superchargers? No one puts that kinda stuff in their Volvo.

Personally, I think nitrous is a way of cheating.

I agree, kind of pointless. When are you going to use it? Like once on the on-ramp and then you have to get more.

 

1. People with Volvo's have used Nitrous before...

2. I have yet to see anyone supercharge a Volvo int he states or elsewhere.

But back to the Nitrous... If your N/A and can't afford to completely retrofit a turbo system to your car or make a N/A powerhouse from beefing up the N/A without Super or Turbo charging it then Nitrous can be done easily. Personally I wouldn't use it on my Volvo, but I have seen some 850's on the net with Nitrous hookups and they worked pretty nicely.

 

I just re-read the post. He has an 07 R. That said. all you need is a exhaust/ and a good tune. you should enjoy that level of hp. then if you want more, open up the motor and build it up. the stock trans should hold up to 400tq. that is the levels IPD was looking at for their stage 3 turbo upgrade for the "R". you just need to watch the angle gear closer. keep fresh fuilds in everything.

There is a guy in Aus who supercharged his 240 (i will find the link). pretty cool. IPD did a supercharger and turbo on their SEMA C30 car. I am sure there is more that we are missing?

I think there is a "madmax" 240 over here in cali that is supercharged....

If it is what I found on Youtube, I am not really impressed by it. The 240 that is.

 

i think it is that car. it only dyno'd at the stock turbo models hp. but it makes descent torque.
Wish he pumps more boost out of it....

 

It didn't even sound like it had a Supercharger on it.
