Hi

I have a 2004 Volvo XC90 and I have a little (I hope it is little) problem. The vent shutters inside the center air vent on the dash came free of the mechanical lever they are normally attached to for opening/closing the vent shutters....So I need to pop off the center air vent cover on the dash so I can re-attach the shutters to the lever. I can see what appears to be "release tabs" inside the vent (4 on the top and 4 on the bottom) but I am not sure if they need to be pressed or pulled to release the vent cover from the dash. OR perhaps I am way off base and flat out wrong and these "tabs" have nothing to do with vent removal.

So the question really is: how do I remove the center air vent cover from the dash?

Thank you
Scott

*If not too far from a dealer let them do it. This should not happen normally so should be covered under warranty.

If you have not done this yet I have a suggestion..........if you don't want to do it yourself and it is not covered under warranty....take it to a GOOD and REPUTABLE car stereo store. I am not talking about talking about the big box chain stores, I am talking about your average mom and pop store. They are used to taking apart cars for all kinds of reasons and would charge far less then the dealership for something like this.

Vigo is right! They will charge you less then the dealer, and do it faster too
