hood/bonnet cable broken
My hood/bonnet cable is not opening the hood/bonnet. at first only one side would unlock and now neither one come undone. is there a way to open the hood/bonnet manually? More importantly, how do i get bonnet up? Thanks Rod
the cable did not break at the handle. do i need to remove the plastic cover under the front of the car to get access to the latches? Will i need to trip the latch? if so, how? Tech, thanks for the input.
hi there. i've got similar problem. the difference is =>> i've managed to open the bonnet. i purchased a replacement cable (a genuine part BTW = 41quid). i've been trying to replace it, but i cannot take the old cable out. how can i release latches?? where's the easiest access to them?
any suggestion is welcomed
thank you in advance

Sorry, this post doesn't help get your hood open and I sincerely hope you are able to cleverly figure out how to do it. Please share your solution.
I just got my 850 in November and soon realized it would be difficult to trip the latches from beneath the car, but I couldn't see another way to get at them with the hood in place.
So, I'm planning to connect a couple of thin cables to the latch levers and dangle them to within reach from underneath just in case. The cables may need to be routed through a small pulley attached to the fender wall to get a straight pull on the levers. If anyone has done this specific suggestions would be welcome.
