Default 1998 v70r

Hello, my wagon started hesitating / misfire feeling. only on the first run of the day and it only starts when we go up hill. but again only on the first drive of the day. the rest of the day its fine, up hill or anything. no check engine light on. car has 178xxx miles on her. could this be a motor mount issue? Thanks for any feed back / advice

I doubt it. Check the port for codes even if you don't have a CEL.

When was the last time the car was tuned up?

last tune up was back around 130xxx, are you thinking it might be as simple as spark plugs / wires?

changed spark plugs and wire set 2 days ago (volvo OEM) car ran fine, but always does after the first run. wife took it out yesturday for the first run and the car CEL came on (random misfire 1-5) it misfired very hard and the engine died, and would not start back up. had it towed home, got it started and it was a very heavy misfire, struggled to stay alive. disconnected the battery pulled the plugs, wires and distributer and rotor to check everything out, all seems fine, put it all back together and car runs perferct. let it sit overnight, got up this morning drove about 12 miles, car misfired, CEL, and died. so I disconnected the battery only on the side of the road (power cycled) re connected the battery started the car and it runs great. what is wrong with this thing?

codes P0304, P0302, P0305 is what came up 2 days ago, my brother inlaws scanner.. I dont have one. this morning the CEL was flashing and then stayed on while the car sputtered to death. so i dont know what it had on it this mornng, power cycled and the CEL is gone and car is fine and will be for the rest of the day no matter what i do to it. tomorrow will be the same thing. Ive never seen such a big problem act like this? on the bright side its very prodictable.
