Default 1998 wagon won't start.

My friends 1998 V70 started running rough, then just died. Got towed to my house. Here's where I'm at:

45 psi at fuel rail
Has spark
Unplugged MAF
No codes on scanner

After work tonight, I'm going to see if timing jumped, but after that? What else should I check?

Thank you in advance

I noticed no other responses to your post. I am new to this forum, so I just saw your post and am curious to know if you ever resolved the no-start issue with this 98 V70. Since you made no mention of your awareness of the service history on this vehicle, the first thing I would suspect after such a symptom on this particular model is the timing belt system has failed and thus the problem was exacerbated in this interference engine by the repeated attempts to start it after it died. It's easy to have checked by pulling the front timing belt cover. I'd have done that first before doing any of the other things you have done.

Yes we are having the same problems with a 2000 that we let sit for 4 months. The timing belts seem okay.
Did the original issue get resolved? What did you do?

Thanks

My husband is now thinking cam shaft position sensor or crank shaft position sensor because car has no spark!

DWhite and Tiffany Ellis, I'm new to this forum, and I see that neither of your have received a reply to your post. Neither did the original poster, Lancelincoln. It appears that this forum does not receive very much activity or doesn't have very many members.

I'm also a visitor to the Jaguar Forum. You would find it difficult to believe the amount of activity and help that is found on the Jaguar site. While searching a problem or a thread, one can find or get several replies drom one or differect members in a day.

Perhaps I will find more activity when I search the Volvo 240 branches. I'm more into the older 240's and 940's. I hope each of your found help with your problems.

Cheers.
