Recently was gifted a Volvo in good shape only issue is the head lights an blinkers require you to hit the under or top dash to come on it’s said that someone broke in an was trying to hot wire it an had no clue what they were doing so everything is loose an a mess
I’m in need of fixing this asap if anyone has any tips or tricks to help get this driving safe again thank you

 

2 common problems - the electrical portion of the ignition switch melts internally - if your lights, blinkers and heater fan are not working after starting the car - turn the key back toward off a few degrees to see if that helps. If so - replace the ignition switch.

Or - If it's just the headlamps - the headlamp switch breaks and partially falls apart - the headlamps switch simply pulls straight out for removal - but if you do it might/will come apart - so have in mind where you will be getting a replacement.
