Default Hesitation in 2nd gear at WOT, need advice!

Hey all, decided to drive the T5 to work tonight, it's a 1998, and my second car/winter car so isn't being driven much these days. I have a problem that i'm unsure of what could be the cause.

when accelerating in first gear the car drives just fine, but, when I shift into 2nd and get into boost my boost gauge will shoot up to 10psi but upon doing so I get quite bad "hesitation" where the car will act like it's misfiring but you can see the boost dropping down to 5 then back to 10 and so on. Before tonight the car drove great I did notice before it would hit 10 then drop slightly to 9 and then back and so on while at WOT but never that you could feel nor did it hesitate.

As i'm not to familiar with volvo's I'm in need of some help trying to track down what could be the cause. Could it be the turbo itself? or perhaps a boost leak in a hose or the TCV? Also it's not getting a check engine light either...

Thanks in advance

Chances are the upper intake hose is collaspsing when you go WOT. The one at the radiator.

really eh!? if it's that simple of a fix that would be great! not sure if this is related or perhaps me just trying to put two and two together but I also notice that when at idle I blip the throttle, it'll somewhat "stutter" for a second as it revvs, Idle's normally and smooth though and if I just push the pedal it will revv right up no problem. I can hear a suction type of noise coming from what sound like by the throttle body but not the TB itself, don't have a cold air or anything, but that same type of suction noise perhaps related?

so I feel a bit dumb.... I went to get fuel this morning and upon getting back into the car and heading out, I went to accelerate and low and behold the car was fine, pulled like a champ again. Which got me thinking that perhaps I was simply low enough on fuel that with the weight in the back right now (got a bunch of heavy parts for my VW in it) that when squatting under load, it was simply enough to cause the fuel to slosh away from the pickup. If so, then apologies for any wasted time i may have caused!
