Default Installing new car stereo

Hi
Im 19 years old and just bought my first volvo!
Its a 2000 v70 T5.
I really want wireless apple CarPlay in it, will it be possible to switch out the hu-850 for a screen like Kenwood DMX957XR?
And would I need some sort of adapter for steering wheel controls, and a new plastic cover that the screen will fit in?
Thank you in advance

You should be able to fit a standard double DIN or a single DIN with an adaptor plate (or box) into the dash. Check eBay or a site like Crutchfields for a wiring connector. Also you need to know if your car today has a separate amp apart from the head unit and decide if you want to use the factory Volvo amp, use the amp built into the head unit or add your own remote power amp(s).

Not sure about the wheel controls - does your car already have audio buttons on the wheel or are you asking about adding them? If you already have the buttons, then you will need an adaptor for those controls as well but they should be available.

The car already has the wheel controls. Do you know any websites where the Facia plate and the wheel controls adaptor would be the cheapest.
Thank you for the response

Crutchfield is my go-to for these sorts of questions and products. Truly excellent support there. They'll have an idea what forms of dash trim are available and what you need.

I don't know how common this is, but I bought a stereo from them recently, and the website prompted me to take an elaborate installation kit which cost $40 with a $50 discount. So they paid me $10 to take it, and this was a kit that had an amp bypass in it for a somewhat rare car in addition to the normal stuff. So that's pretty cheap, negative $10. But in no way would I have paid $40. I think $20 for trim and wire plugs would be plenty.
