Default should I buy extended warranty?

Hi all, just bought a 99 v70 fwd with 72k miles. after 3 test drives made the purchase but driving off the lot it would shake and miss in idle and then durring accelaration all the way up to 50 mph. Took it to dealer asap and they said yes it was missing probably due to high power wash on engine - they checked it out and it was cyl #3 - they replaced plug and coil and now it is smooth.

The only issue I notice now is that accelarating from 45 mph to about 51 mph it tends to vibrate a little and then smooth after 51 mph.

Car had 1 owner and clean CF -

should I buy a 3rd party warranty (carchex) to cover the next 100k miles /5yrs? It cost 2300.

What EXACTLY does it cover?
Damage resulting by Larry, Mo, and Curly spraying 20,000psi of detergent directly into elecrical components may not be covered. I assume it got the Armor All treatment too, eh?

Any problems since your last post?

Default Beware Of the Extended Warranty

I got suckered into buying one. Something would break on my 98 V70 XC. I would place a claim. They would tell me that " wearable parts are not covered". Now What on a car isn't a
wearable part ? Not for me anymore. Think twice on buying one.

Read it thoroughly and ask questions. See exactly what is covered and how it is covered. If it really does cover major things and you plan on keeping the car for a longer period of time then it could be a good deal. One major thing that fails that is covered would end up more than paying for the warranty.

...Or perhaps the value of the entire car. If something big goes on this car, it's not necessarily "cheaper to keep 'er."
