Wobble under load 1999 V70 xc
Greetings All!
I've been reading Volvo forum posts since I bought my first volvo. Very helpful!
I'm hoping for a little more help
I have a 1999 V70 xc (previous owner removed the rear drive shaft) FWD now.
Car has new tires and fresh wheel balance and alignment. Ever since I bought it its had a series of grinding/wobble noises upon acceleration from a stop. Happens around 2100 rpm till about 2400 rpm. I have replaced both front ball joints/arms, both wheel bearings, both tie rods (outer) and both cv half axles trying to throw parts at a car with 140K in order to stop the wobble sound/feel. Although better then where I started its still there. I had tears in the old boots and the ball joints were bad.
Also on the highway I've notice (not audibly) but heavy vibrations past 60mph. The vibration persist with the car in N at those speeds. (Automatic transmission)
Also not sure if its related... but the rear angle gear shat output has about a quarter turn of free play in it... not wobbly though.
I'm out of ideas and would like to hear yours!
here is a link to a video I made of the car in action
many thanks in advanced!
