Hey everybody!! Harry the Volvo came with a broken hood latch cable. The guy I bought him from actually gave me a pair of pliers!! Anyways found my part at the salvage yard for 5$.. YAY!! Only thing is, is that I haven't got a clue how to replace it. Help...
I searched the forums but what I found wasn't compatible with my 02 V70 XC

 

Sorry I can't help definitively but every account of replacing the hood release cable involved removing the headlight unit.

Cables age. Are you sure an old junkyard part is what you want to install in such a difficult-to-reach location?

 

Thanks for the info. And yes I'm sure about the part. I got it off a newer model. After looking at it and making sure it had everything that I needed, it looks brand new. Even so, it's good practice and experience. Especially since I haven't worked on any cars in a very long time...
