Blower Motor Runs All the Time
OK, getting into the probs with my son's '01 V70. He just picked it up - A/C works, but no blower motor. Troubleshooting led to 30A fuse was removed. When blower fuse was put back in, fan ran on high constantly - even with key off and removed from the ignition.
I picked up a new resistor module and installed it - blower worked perfectly on all speeds - problem solved, NOT! 1 hour later my son called saying he went out to the car, opened the door and the fan was running on the highest setting without the key in the ignition.
Is this a known problem?
Something has to be commanding the fan on high speed.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I just read about the CCM commanding the blower on high for 50 minutes after the car is shut off to dry out the evaporator. This coincides with the time my son checked the car after the repair. Now, we just have to verify that the CCM timer only commands the blower fan to run for 7 minutes. I may have answered my own question!
That was the issue. Blower speed works fine now that I replaced the resistor pack. CCM commands blower on high speed if sensor detects a wet evaporator - it runs for 7 minutes and shuts off. Jeez, this car is loaded with electronic modules. I'm not sure these cars are good choices for old used cars - electronic module failures get expensive!
