Exclamation HELP with p0013 and p1332 - 2001 v70

I purchased my 2001 v70 2.4t - 129,000 miles from an auction 2 weeks ago. It drives great and shifts fine. However when I come to a stop, I have noticed that the transmission feels like it is shifting up (popping in neutral) even at a stand still. I go to release the brake and take off only to have the car not go roll forward immediately, then it lurches forward after a second and then I can accelerate.

It kinda feels like the car doesn't acknowledge that I am sitting still. The car felt like it was in neutral and then when I let go of the brake it takes a second and then shifts into first gear.

Is this a camshaft position sensor issue? Transmission issue?

My scanner tells me that both codes point to the Camshaft position sensor and I just pulled it out tonight. I am going to pick n pull tomorrow morning to see if replacing it makes my light goes away.

I have also read in a different forum that the VVT sensor can cause similar issues.

Thanks!

So i have been able to narrow down the symptoms. The car only falls out of gear when i apply the brakes in drive. If i leave the car parked on a slight hill (so it wont roll forward) and leave it in drive with foot off brakes, it idles fine and doesn't drop to neutral. The second i apply the brakes in drive, it pops in and out. Transmission fluid appears to be clean and at the proper level, however when i call the Volvo dealer they say a flush and reflash of the trans ecu is common. Could i need a reflash? Or is this a vacuum issue??

I'd think a vacuum leak would throw another code iirc. I'd verify nothing has eaten/chewed the harness underneath and nothing is pinched to be absolutely sure.

I doubt the vacuum leak is my problem. Still hoping for more direction from this forum. Someone please help with their experience!

Sounds like transmission solenoid issues. Look around this site for info on them.....there is a lot.

It sounds to me like you have a combination of issues. The early cars had software that allowed the car to go into neutral when stopped and the foot on the brake. When the brake was released, the car engaged back in drive. However, if the engine speeds up, the car goes in drive as well.

Start by checking the brake pedal switch. Make sure that you are getting the right signal when you release the brake pedal.

After that, I recommend that you change the shift solenoids and fluid. You can PM me for more details.
