No clearance for engine mount removal
Hello,
I was following the TRQ tutorial for replacing my front and rear engine mounts on my 2006 Volvo v70 2.5t.
I unbolted the rear and front engine mount. I also unbolted the torque / lower front engine mount. Then I jacked the engine as much as I could. However, no matter how much I tried, the engine mounts wouldn’t come out of the since there wasn’t enough clearance between the engine and frame.
I know you’re not supposed to jack the engine more than 30mm, and I’m pretty sure I did and still couldn’t get them out. Is there something I’m missing? My next attempt was going to remove the upper engine mount that bolts onto the crossbar going over the engine. Would there be any concerns in having so many mounts being disconnected at once? Is there anything else I could try?
