Throttle Position Sensor Limp Mode
My 2001 V70 started having an erratic idle. I first cleaned the throttle plate and intake area and the MAF sensor with no change. After doing some reading I thought removing the TPS and trying to clean the contacts might help. After removing the 4 screws holding the TPS I attempted to pry it from the throttle body and apparently broke something inside of it. The engine is now in limp mode and the throttle position on my scanner constantly reads 16 degrees even when I depress the gas pedal. I have ordered another throttle body (with the yellow tag). After I replace the throttle body will the engine automatically come out of limp mode or will clearing the codes do it or will I need to take it to a dealer?
Also, am I chasing the wrong problem? Could it just be a vacuum leak?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hard to say. Ideally you would read CEL’s and go from there. Have the codes been read? Were there any related to throttle? It’s a common failure point for the pre-2004 ETB’s that’s for sure.
