Unhappy Turn signal and high beams 2 for 1

Hey group, I am reaching out to see if anyone else has encountered this problem. I have a 2002 V70XC with just shy of 200k. When I use my turn signal and it does not matter left or right, my high beams also come on and stay on. The only way I have been able to turn them off is a manual flip of the headlight switch. Could it be a relay whose time has come and gone? the turn signal control unite or a more ominous start of an electrical problem with the car. Here is the deal with this car, I bought it brand new 2 days before I started medical school, this older lady has been very well maintained and to be honest I actually like driving the wagon much more than the 2020 XC60 we lease. Any ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated. Unless it is a pretty easy fix, due to time constraints with the pandemic being and being a frontline healthcare professional; I will most likely be forced to bring to my Volvo dealership which is under new ownership and management. I have not had many dealings since the takeover and am always leary about working with a new service director. I'm not looking for oh the entire steering control unite needs to be replaced when it turns out to be something small or just a single part.

sounds like you need to replace the turn signal switch that controls the directionals, dips the high beams etc. You may be able to find a DIY video on Youtube. Most likely a dealer only part but here's a diagram with part numbers
