Default Car won't maintain steady 2500RPM for smog test

Hi all

My 2006 V70XC (100,00 miles) won't maintain a consistent 2500RPM, so won't pass the smog test. The RPM keeps creeping up and down, which I believe indicates a dirty throttle valve.

I've found some videos on youtube, but so far nothing specific for my year/model. I am not a mechanic but I am pretty handy and have a full set of tools - with the right instructions I should be OK

Does anyone have any detailed instructions or video on cleaning the throttle?

Anyone think it could be something else? Or have other suggestions?
